Tirana Court remands Skerdi Sina to prison

The Tirana Court has ordered the security measure "arrest in prison" for Skerdi Sina, who was arrested in connection with the incident of January 9 of this year in the Astir area.

Sina's legal defense requested the measure of compulsory appearance and prohibition of leaving the country, or the security measure of 'house arrest', with the argument that his client has no connection to the incident in question and has not held anyone by force, but this was not taken into account by the court.

Lawyer Erjon Kullolli also said that regarding Sina's attempt to evade police arrest, he was in a state of anxiety and did not know how to act.

Who is Skerdi Sina?

Skredi Sina is not an unknown name to the authorities.

In January, he was declared wanted, after allegedly holding a 21-year-old woman hostage in a rented apartment in Astir.

Five people are suspected of keeping 21-year-old Sajma Qordja locked in the apartment, being declared wanted at the time, and they are Skerdi Sina, Ogert Aliaj, Arnold Jahon, Anduel Aliaj and Joni Sadikaj. The 21-year-old is said to have been Sadikaj's girlfriend.

The incident occurred on January 9 in the capital, when a girl called the Tirana Police Operations Room, saying she had been raped by several people, and alerted the police. The police cordoned off the "Astir" area in Tirana for over an hour, as they suspected that we were facing a kidnapping case.

RENEA officers even had to descend from the upper floors with a rope to enter the apartment and rescue the young girl. Weapons and drugs were also found inside the premises.
