GJKKO left him in prison, Meta appeals the decision

The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has appealed the decision of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), which rejected his request to replace the security measure "arrest with imprisonment".

The appeal was submitted this Monday by Meta's lawyers and is expected to be reviewed in the Special Appeal.

Ilir Meta was arrested at noon on October 21, and is accused of committing corruption, money laundering, and concealing assets through lobbying in the US and as former Minister of Energy in collecting CEZ's debt through the company DIA.
