Berisha with journalists from the diaspora: The vote dies before it reaches the

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has held an online communication with Albanian journalists from the diaspora.

Asked what he would have done differently if the May 11 elections were to be rerun, Berisha admitted that some changes could have been made in the selection of candidates and the manner of electoral engagement.

“If the elections were to be rerun, in retrospect, there would be changes in the candidacies. There could have been broader commitments,” Berisha said. However, he praised the DP’s program as the best Albania has ever had.

According to him, the DP campaign relied on the highest level of international expertise. "The expertise for these elections was that of the winning team of the elections in the United States. Even in 2005, I had the expertise of the winners of the presidential elections in the US. In the electoral doctrine, it is believed that the winners of the presidential elections in the US are the best electoral experts."

Berisha stated that, despite the great work done, the elections were held in a climate that he considered a farce, declaring that "the vote dies before it enters the box."
