Fires in the country/ Ministry of Defense: 19 fires in 24 hours! Six are still

During the last 24 hours, 19 fires have been identified, of which 6 are still active.

One of the most problematic hot spots is the one at the waste landfill in the municipality of Elbasan. After its isolation by operational forces yesterday, work continues today to completely extinguish the flames, which risk spreading to other areas.

According to the Ministry of Defense, firefighters, forestry and municipal forces are engaged in the field, working non-stop to eliminate any potential reactivation hotspots. Due to high temperatures and wind, the risk remains high and the situation requires constant monitoring.

In total, the fires in the country have mainly involved areas with trees, bushes and grass, burning over 65 hectares of vegetation. 37 firefighting vehicles, 362 operational forces, 8 heavy vehicles and personnel of the Armed Forces have been engaged in operations to cope with the situation.

Authorities call on citizens to exercise maximum caution, avoid starting fires in open spaces, and immediately notify responsible structures in case of danger.
