International drug search: 36-year-old arrested in Durrës (NAME)

A 36-year-old man has been arrested by police in Durrës, after being declared an international wanted person.

This is Fatjon Berisha alias Bledar Berisha, against whom the security measure "Arrest in prison" has been imposed, for the criminal offense "Trafficking in narcotics, committed within the framework of a criminal organization".

The blue uniforms emphasize that his arrest was carried out as part of extradition to Italy.

"Following successive operations to locate and arrest internationally and nationally wanted persons, the Directorate of the Special Operational Force at the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the operational services of the Durrës DVP, successfully finalized the police operation codenamed "Operation 52".

As a result, in the city of Durrës, citizen Fatjon Berisha alias Bledar Berisha, a resident of Durrës, was located, arrested and handcuffed, with the aim of extradition to Italy.

This citizen was declared an international wanted person, after the Court of Rome, Italy, imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him, for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics, committed within the framework of a criminal organization", the Police statement states.

According to Italian criminal law, this offense carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

"Inter-institutional cooperation continues to complete the extradition procedures of the 36-year-old to the Italian authorities," the police statement said.
