Boat captain drowns after diving into water to save two tourists in Shkodra

A serious incident occurred this afternoon.

The captain of the Shkodra Municipality tourist boat, Arben Alamani, 51, is suspected of drowning while trying to save two tourists who had fallen into the water.

"Around 16:32, a notification was received from the Operations Room that on Lake Shkodra, the captain of the Shkodra Municipality's tourist boat, citizen AA, 51 years old, is suspected of drowning while trying to rescue two tourists who had fallen into the water.

The tourists have been rescued and are in good health.

"Police services immediately went to the scene, and the search continues to find the body of the 51-year-old man," the police announced. 

The investigation team continues to work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
