Residents clash with police in Theth: We are on our land

Residents of the tourist village of Theth have opposed the demolition of illegal constructions in the area and clashed with the police today, following the intervention of the IMT action.

Residents clashed with police officers, saying "we are on our land."

"We've been here for 300 years, maybe 400 years. As long as God has allowed, and there has been no conflict with anyone...", the residents said.

The action follows an order from Prime Minister Edi Rama. IKMT and the police have planned to initially demolish around 40 illegally built buildings, in an action that will last several days.
