Tabaku: Salianji bore a political cost that no one in Albania has borne

For MP Jorida Tabaku, Ervin Salianj's sentence was unfair, compared to the case of Mayor Veliaj. On A2 CNN, she said that the latter is the ugliest political model.

"There is no basis for comparing the release of Salianji and Veliaj's stay in prison, Salianji suffered an unjust sentence. No one knows how he experienced it, especially when he was unjust. He left the DP headquarters with a denunciation and went to prison.

"While Veliaj is the ugliest political model that the majority has offered with power grabs, with corruption, with arrogance, with every kind of thing involved in the governance of Tirana and I think he deserved to stay there. From a personal point of view, we do not wish him well, but it is a decision that rightly should be there for many issues and especially that of the incinerators."

According to Tabaku, Salianji held a political position that no one in Albania has held.

"The fact is that he was in prison for 10 months during an election period, when the political battle was fiercer and the DP needed more political figures on the ground. Salianji had one of the highest stakes, being deputy chairman of the DP group for a judicial process that everyone knew how it would go, and he sustained a political cost that no one in Albania has sustained."
