Luan Baçi from the Democratic Party has reacted after the release of former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji from prison in Fier. 

Speaking to News 24, Baçi described his arrest as a political act and Salianji as a "political prisoner."  

"Salianji was a political prisoner. This imprisonment is a continuation of the imprisonment of opposition politicians by the regime. Ervin Salianji was unjustly imprisoned. I have met him, I have entered the prison premises. He is eagerly awaiting his release, to join the DP team, to continue the opposition struggle, which Salianji has set an example of doing well, like rarely anyone else. We were expecting his release, because every convict who serves 2/3 of his sentence is expected to be released.

"Saliani was a political prisoner. Salianji was removed from the DP team and this was a blow to the Democratic Party. The DP has taken many blows, we have the democratic leader Sali Berisha who is called to SPAK, Fatmir Mediu is also hit by the regime, and Ilir Meta. All have been blows from the opposition, to perpetuate Rama's power ," said Baçi. 

Supporters of Ervin Salianj gathered today in front of the Fier Prison following the decision of the Fier Court to release the former MP after 9 months in prison.
