As soon as he left Fier prison, where he stayed for 10 months, former MP Ervin Salianji gave a statement to the journalists present.

Salianji: I suffered 10 months in prison for political reasons. Because I denounced a drug trafficker. It is also a self-exposing to get me out of this period. I had victories against Edi Rama in every area. I believe that it is a source of inspiration for thousands of democrats who will resist and overthrow an incriminated government. As you know, I will go to thank an electoral area in the village of Fier to show that in Albania there are examples of people who faithfully manage to win. I will start from this moment. Today I will do politics in every corner that I am given the opportunity. It is a battle won. Because of the regime's fear of losing the elections, it did what it did. We will communicate at headquarters. You know that prison is not even good for the enemy. Today I have a different background and I feel on my skin the injustice that citizens feel.

I did not go to prison for theft, nor for a crime. It was for political reasons. I denounced a convicted international drug trafficker and I served time in prison. The consequences, a man who had been free for 7 years went and surrendered. From the regime's side, I have been here for 10 months.
