NATO chief dodges questions on US tariffs
In Brussels, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte was asked about the new US tariffs.

When asked about the policies, Rutte said he was "focused on making sure that we keep NATO territories safe," Skynews writes .

"[This] we understand is a long-term and persistent, unpleasant threat - and that's Russia, and that's what our focus should be. That's why I'm not commenting on the tariffs."

When asked how Donald Trump's tariffs were affecting countries' finances, forcing inflation and therefore hurting their ability to spend on defense, Rutte said: "I don't think I'm helping this alliance by commenting on something that is not really part of the alliance's policy, and that is to make sure that we can defend ourselves."

However, Rutte said the new policies announced by Trump did not violate NATO treaties.
