Kosova dënon largimin e flamurit të saj nga Kongresi në Serbi, pret sqarime nga UEFA

Ministri në detyrë i Kulturës, Rinisë dhe Sportit i Kosovës, Hajrullah Çeku, e ka dënuar të enjten largimin e flamurit të Kosovës nga Kongresi i UEFA-së në Beograd si veprim të “turpshëm dhe të papranueshëm”.

Në një reagim në Facebook të enjten vonë, Çeku tha se Kosova pret sqarime nga UEFA-ja dhe “veprime efektive për të adresuar përgjegjësinë për këtë shkelje të rregullave të tyre të brendshme dhe këtë sulm ndaj shtetit të Kosovës”.

Federata e Futbollit e Kosovës (FFK) dhe Federata e Futbollit e Serbisë (FFS) u përplasën rreth pranisë së flamurit të Kosovës në Kongresin e 49-të të Federatës Evropiane të Futbollit në Beograd të enjten.

Derisa Federata Serbe tha se e kishte hequr flamurin e Kosovës nga vendtakimi i Kongresit në kryeqytetin serb, Federata Kosovare nguli këmbë se flamuri ishte i pranishëm deri në përfundim të mbledhjes.

On the day of the UEFA Congress, on Thursday, the Serbian Federation said it removed the flag, blaming UEFA for its placement.

UEFA has not responded to Radio Free Europe in its questions about the event.

It is not clear at what time the Kosovo flag was removed from the Congress venue, while UEFA's annual gathering ended shortly after noon on Thursday.

Kosovo has been a full member of UEFA since 2016, but Serbia continues to oppose its presence in the home of European football, just as it opposes Kosovo's independence, declared in 2008.

Minister Çeku said that the removal of the symbols is "a direct attack on the state integrity of Kosovo and as such cannot pass without a genuine international reaction".

"We expect clarifications from UEFA and effective actions to address responsibility for this violation of their internal rules and this attack on the state of Kosovo," he said on Facebook.

He called on UEFA and FIFA not to hold sporting events in Serbia as long as official Belgrade "does not change its approach in relation to Kosovo's participation".

"The Serbian state has not changed, it is the same one that committed massacres and genocide a few decades ago. Neither then nor today, he has not spared even sports," he added.

The 49th regular UEFA Congress was held at the Sava Congress Centre in Belgrade. This annual gathering brought together presidents and general secretaries from UEFA's 55 member national associations to discuss the key issues that shape European football.

In his opening speech, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin stressed the importance of unity and solidarity in European football.

"We are a united team. A unified force. And a strong union. We are the union of European football," he said./REL
