Former RENEA officer, Altin Morina, arrested

Police authorities arrested former RENEA officer Altin Morina yesterday evening.

He had been wanted by SPAK since May 17, 2024, where 50 arrest warrants were issued as part of Operation "Revanshi", after the analysis of conversations on the encrypted application "Sky Ecc".

Altin Morina will face charges of cannabis cultivation and participation in a criminal organization. The case against him shows that he acted as an agent for Durim Bami, an organized crime figure accused of murder, offering to solve Bami and his friends' problems with the Police, such as paying bribes to other police officers.

Morina was also an investor in cannabis plots in Fushe-Kruje.

We recall that Morina was arrested in March 2023, after 113 thousand euros were found in the car he was driving.

The 43-year-old, at the time serving as Head of the Training Department at the RENEA Forces, was handcuffed in the Kodra e Diellit area, while driving a luxury vehicle.
