A 49-year-old man from Egypt, who was internationally wanted by Italian authorities, has been arrested in Durrës.

For this person, the Court of Catania has issued an arrest warrant for the criminal offense of "Human Trafficking", committed within the framework of a criminal organization.

For this criminal activity, the law in Italy provides for a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

Meanwhile, Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with Interpol Rome to finalize the procedure for the extradition of the 49-year-old to Italy.

The police operation codenamed "Operation 36" is being finalized by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force.

Accused of creating a criminal organization for human trafficking in Italy, a 49-year-old man from Egypt was arrested in Durrës.

As a result of the coordination of information and police actions, with Italian counterparts, through Interpol Tirana specialists, the Directorate of the Special Operational Force, within the framework of the operation "Operational 36", captured in Durrës and put in handcuffs the citizen declared internationally wanted, on behalf of Italy, WE, 49 years old, born in Egypt.
