Organized gambling in a bar via mobile phone, 29-year-old arrested in Tirana

A 29-year-old man has been arrested by Tirana Police after being caught illegally organizing gambling activities in his bar in the village of Daijas.

According to the official announcement, within the framework of continuous checks and based on information provided by police intelligence, specialists for the Investigation of Cybercrimes discovered that sports betting was taking place via mobile phone in the premises of his premises.

As a result, the administrator of the premises, citizen Sh. D., 29 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested in flagrante delicto. During the operation, the mobile phone used for placing bets was also seized, as material evidence.

The young man will face charges for the criminal offenses of "Organizing or conducting gambling activities in violation of the law" and "Making premises available for illegal gambling."

The police announce that controls to crack down on this illegal activity will continue throughout the territory.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further investigations.
