Assassination in Tirana, Roan Brahimi's wife breaks silence: I have no conflicts with anyone

Assassination in Tirana, Roan Brahimi's wife breaks silence: I have no

A series of assassinations rocked the country within a few hours, leaving one person dead and four others injured. Meanwhile, it is reported that the dynamics of the assassination in Tirana have taken a new turn, with strong suspicions that the perpetrators have mistaken the target.

According to preliminary investigations, it is suspected that the target of the assassination attempt that occurred in the Lundra area was the wife of Roan Brahimi (also known as Sidorel Prendi), while the four injured people are thought to have been shot by mistake.

Media sources report that the perpetrators may have had information that Roan Brahimi's wife was in Tirana at the time of the assassination. She herself, in her testimony before investigators, stated that she does not know who the perpetrators could be and does not know if the incident in Tirana is related to the execution of her father-in-law, Gjovalin Prendi, in Lezha.

Assassination in Tirana – Injuring four innocent people

The incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m., when a G-Class vehicle was targeted by a hail of bullets from unidentified gunmen. There were four people inside the vehicle: Arenc Stafa, 34 years old (driver), Kian Mullahi, 19 years old, and two minors Dior Demiraj, 11 years old, and Marko Demiraj, 17 years old. They had set off to celebrate the 11-year-old's birthday and were returning home.

The perpetrators began the pursuit and targeted with weapons from the Shkoza roundabout to the TEG area, continuing on towards Lundra. To avoid the attack, the driver attempted to speed away, but after a few kilometers the vehicle crashed and stopped.

All four passengers were injured as a result of the shooting. Arenc Stafa and Kian Mullahi are out of danger. Marko Demiraj is also in stable condition, while Dior Demiraj remains in a more serious condition. The families of the injured were notified by the police an hour after the attack. All the injured young men and the driver have no criminal record and there are no indications of any conflicts.

Execution in Lezha – Revenge or warning?

Just a few hours before the assassination attempt in Tirana, 65-year-old Gjovalin Prendi, Roan Brahimi's father-in-law, was executed by gunfire in the village of Pllanë, Lezha. He was shot in a bar by three armed men. Two of the masked perpetrators got out of an SUV and shot at the victim, seriously wounding him in the chest. He was rushed to hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.

This is the third attack on the Prendi family's bar, which has previously been hit with guns and explosives. It is suspected that the murder is related to revenge due to the involvement of his son, Roan Brahimi, in criminal matters. However, the 65-year-old himself was known as a respected man in the area and was trying to stop the cycle of violence and blood feud.

Investigations – No clear leads at the moment

The police and the prosecution are investigating several leads. Although there is still no official lead for either incident, it is suspected that the murder in Lezha and the assassination in Tirana may be connected. The investigation team is analyzing the movements of the people involved and their relatives, while investigating the possibility that the perpetrators may have mistaken their target, shooting four innocent people in Tirana, while their real target may have been someone else.

The events have raised the alarm about a dangerous escalation of criminal violence, including involving innocent people. Police are pursuing the perpetrators and have seized security camera footage along the pursuit route to identify the vehicle and the perpetrators.
