Former KLA fighter: They arrested my brother because I compared Rama to

Former KLA fighter, Mecan Zotaj, has raised strong accusations from the podium of today's protest in front of hundreds of citizens, stating that pressure, blackmail and repression are being exerted against protesters and their families by state structures.

He also touched on a personal case, claiming that after his speech at the protest the day before, the police escorted and arrested his brother in Roskovec, as he said, because of a statement in which Prime Minister Edi Rama was compared to the dictator Ceausescu.

"Rama's criminal government and its people have started putting pressure on the protesters. Today they went and arrested my brother in Roskovec, just because I compared him to Ceausescu yesterday," he said.

Zotaj further stated that his problem with the government is not personal, but institutional, linking the situation to what he describes as abuse of power and arrogant behavior by the government. He stressed that the protest will continue despite the pressures.

"It is not a personal issue with me, but an institutional problem. The threats and pressures coming through government people make us even more determined. We are ready to go to the end to put an end to this situation," he said.

At the end of his speech, he also called on the international community to react to the political situation in the country, while repeating calls for the resignation and punishment of senior officials.

"We also call on international institutions to react. The people cannot be suppressed. Our strength is unstoppable," said Zotaj.
