The prosecution has registered the disappearance of Eglant Koçi for the criminal offense of murder and Armand Shakaj has been declared wanted for this crime.

Sources for journalist Anila Hoxha indicate that from the session where the security measure was reviewed, the prosecutor stated that Shakaj was questioned by the Tirana Police two days after the report made by Eglant Koçi's family members.

"I have known Eglant Koç for a long time, as his mother previously worked as a sanitation worker," the suspect is reported to have stated.

 Appearing concerned about his disappearance, he claimed to have met Koç on June 3, the day before his disappearance, and that he had no knowledge of his fate.

"He told me last month (May) that there were concerns and threats related to the activity of call centers, but I don't know more, as he didn't tell me anything else," Shakaj stated.

After being questioned and giving his testimony, he was initially released. Later, after verifying the security camera footage at his premises, located near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, his name was included in the list of wanted persons.
