DASH reacts to the lifting of the "non grata" measure against Sali

The Press Office of the US Department of State has reacted to the news about the lifting of the "non grata" measure against the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.

In a response to Euronews Albania, the State Department explains that in some cases exceptions to previously imposed measures have been applied, within the framework of assessments of the national interest of the United States.

“The State Department has issued exemptions to certain 7031(c) determinations established during the previous administration because granting the exemptions serves a compelling national interest,” the State Department response states. 

This reaction comes at a time when public opinion has increased discussion about Berisha's status and recent diplomatic developments between the US and Albania.
