Call center raided in Tirana, 4 organizers arrested, 49 employees prosecuted

Tirana police have raided a call center suspected of computer fraud.

According to the authorities, the adapted environment on the second floor of a building on “Gjergj Fishta” Boulevard served as a center for online fraudulent activities. The intervention was carried out by specialists from the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Sector, in cooperation with the Cyber ​​Crimes of the Tirana Police Department, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office.

As part of the operation, four citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto, suspected of being the organizers and leaders of the activity. They have been identified with the initials EK, 28 years old, AJ, 21 years old, ED, 21 years old, and MM, 19 years old, who are suspected of administering and leading the groups of employees.

Also, during the intervention, 49 employees were caught red-handed in the call center premises, against whom criminal proceedings have been initiated while they are at large.

Police have seized a total of 107 electronic devices, including 94 computers, 11 mobile phones, 2 iPads, as well as other materials suspected of being used for online fraud activity.
