Zhupa addresses the government: The Assembly cannot be a parallel world, reality

Democratic MP Ina Zhupa spoke from the Parliament podium about the massive citizen protest that has been taking place for 11 days in Tirana.

Zhupa stated that the European Parliament has requested the repeal of the law on protected areas, and yet, the Assembly has left this request off the agenda.

The Democratic MP addressed the government, showing that she is in a completely different reality than what is happening today on the streets of Tirana. Zhupa brought to attention the citizens' ongoing demand for Rama's immediate resignation.

"This Assembly cannot be in a parallel world, from the world of reality that is happening in Albania. Who is the priority of the day. The first issue that must be addressed is the integration package, the repeal of the law, that they have donated Albania to the oligarchs. They have treated development; when and how Edi Rama wants. This is neither the European Albania, nor what Albanians want. In fact, it is the only bill/law on the calendar that will be reviewed, to protect cultural heritage. And what do you do? You leave it without a date. Reality requires Rama's resignation, a transitional government, a parliament that approves the repeal of laws, a parliament that does not anathematize protesters.

"It is one of the protesters' demands to protect protected areas, natural and cultural heritage. Adopt a calendar for worthless things. Respond to reality. Reality demands the resignation of Edi Rama, demands a transitional government, a parliament that approves the repeal of laws against the public interest," said Zhupa.
