Berisha from the Parliament: Meet the protesters' demands, otherwise it

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted from the Parliament's rostrum regarding the protests that have been taking place for 11 days in Tirana and other cities in the country, demanding that Parliament urgently address the protesters' demands.

Berisha described the protests as a massive and peaceful movement of young Albanians, who, according to him, are demanding the protection of the environment, national heritage and the future of the country.

From the Assembly hall, the democratic leader requested the urgent development of a motion with debate and the change of the parliamentary agenda to prioritize the protesters' demands, which he considered completely legitimate.

"Listening to their voice is an absolute necessity. Otherwise it will be too late and it will be a great historical mistake," Berisha declared.

He accused the Prime Minister of concentrating power and called on the leaders of the Assembly to distance themselves from the government and focus parliamentary proceedings on the demands of citizens who are protesting across the country.

FULL DECLARATION

Today, Albanians in Albania, Albanians in all four corners of the region and the world, wherever they are, expect from this parliament an immediate response to the demands of tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of young Albanian men and women, who have been in an epic, peaceful protest for 12 days, with a series of absolutely fair demands, with which they aim for nothing other than to save Albania from a man who considers the state and the country as his personal property.
To save the wonderful Albanian environment from nature that is being destroyed on all four sides.
To save the centuries-old heritage of the nation that is suffering barbaric attacks from the oligarchs, clans and lobbies close to Edi Rama.
So, leaving them aside, they are Albanian citizens, they are first and foremost young Albanians, who in their protest, with one thing they are 100 percent sincere, they want to place their dream in this country.
They want to make Albania their dream.
So let's not deal with anything else, let's deal with fulfilling their demands.
I urgently request a motion with debate with your leader.
I urgently request that the parliament have on its agenda the only issue, the demands that are absolutely legitimate since all the laws you have changed are unconstitutional.
Listening to their voice is an absolute necessity, otherwise it will be too late and it will be a great historical mistake that is being made.
So Mr. Speaker, exercise all your authority, distance yourself from Edi Rama and change the agenda of the parliament.
