DP MPs block Manja, sing the protesters' 'chorus': Rama resigns

Democratic Party deputies interrupted Ulsi Manje's speech with chants of "Rama, resign," a slogan that has become a symbol of the recent protests against the government.

During Manja's speech in Parliament, opposition MPs raised their voices demanding the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama, while articulating accusations against the government regarding its governance, corruption, and the economic situation in the country.

The clash in the hall came after Manja declared that Edi Rama will continue to be prime minister until 2029, when the next parliamentary elections are expected to take place.

His statement caused an immediate reaction from Democratic MPs, who turned the Parliament hall into an echo of the calls that have been heard for days in the protests organized in Tirana and other cities in the country.
