Trash justice: punishing letter writers, not thieves who "burn" money

By Flamur Vezaj

Seven sentenced to "terrible" sentences, several weeks in prison, a few months in detention... which are barely worth calling sentences. Three others on probation, because they don't have to work hard at all, and one... innocence! All this for a "serious crime", the tender procedure for incinerators. Not for the theft. Not for the disappearance of money. Not for the lack of the plant. But because... on paper the winner was predetermined!

Meanwhile, for those who gave and those who took 130 million euros and never built anything, not only is there no punishment, but no charges either! So, yes, you are punished for choosing the winner, but not for the fact that the winner turned off the lights and ran away with the bag of money!

The irony is that SPAK arrests those who "played cards", but doesn't even have the address of the owners who collected the waste, dug a hole here and there and called it an "incinerator". And not only that, but even after five years, SPAK has not been able to find where the money is! Seizure? Let's not even mention it...

Meanwhile, in some corner of Tirana, proud as fishermen who catch plastic fish, they boast about seizing 10 million in cryptocurrencies with the help of foreigners, of course. They could barely seize a single coin themselves.

Then the head of SPAK comes to report to the KLP and brags about the seizures, that there are never any confiscations along the way, that surprisingly, the money always "melts" along the way. But the head's biggest concern was not organized crime (without SKYECC), not grand corruption, not the 130 million euros that disappeared. His concern was, among other things, what will happen after 9 years with the SPAK prosecutors! Why? Because their mandates will end! And he demands that the Constitution be changed, so that they do not leave their seats... because who can remain a prosecutor but not in SPAK!

Meanwhile, another big concern was the pressure from media politics that is being placed on SPAK! Well, didn't you know this the day you accepted the position? So why are you scared now? If someone threatens you, arrest them! If they slander you, sue them! Or do you like to cry more in reports and conferences than to act on files!!?

And the best part, the official request that SPAK not deal with corruption cases if the amount is less than 500 euros. Is this the Albanian version of "everything under 500 euros is a tip, not a crime"? Well, excuse me, but who have you arrested who has received more than 500 euros in these five years??! Because we can't find it on any page of the report...

And for epic closure, you didn't tell us why the police reports dropped, according to the analysis of your "experts"!??
