Two Albanians sentenced to 18 years in prison for raping English woman

Security camera footage of the rape of an English woman has cost two Albanians in England 9 years in prison each.

The victim was at a nightclub with her friends and during the evening she met a boy and then separated from her friends.

The victim and the person later identified as 22-year-old Redjon Cenaj went outside, where they were joined by 20-year-old Mariglen Ferataj.

The three then got into a taxi which took them to the victim's apartment where she was raped. It was medical evidence and security footage that proved the charges against the two young men.

The footage showed that the victim was not in good condition and the suspects were seen holding her. Ferataj was seen picking up the victim and placing her in the taxi after she collapsed to the floor.

A statement taken from the taxi driver also confirmed that the victim was not alert to what was happening.

A drug test also revealed that the victim tested positive. Both were subsequently arrested a few days later and during questioning Ferataj claimed that the victim knew what was happening and it happened of her own volition while Cenaj denied having had sexual activity.

Following a trial at Leicester Crown Court last month, the defendants were found guilty of rape.
