Two young Albanian men have been sentenced to 9 years in prison each by Leicester Crown Court in England, after being found guilty of raping a British woman in October 2023.

At the center of the incident are 22-year-old Redjon Cenaj and 20-year-old Mariglen Ferataj, who, according to the investigation, had met the victim during a night at a club in the city of Leicester. Later, the girl had separated from the group of friends and had gone out with Cenaj. Later, they were joined by Ferataj.

The three traveled in a taxi to the girl's apartment, where the act of sexual violence occurred. Security camera footage and forensic evidence were crucial in solving the case. The cameras clearly showed that the girl was not in a good physical or mental condition, while the two young men were seen helping her get into the taxi. At one point, she falls to the ground, while Ferataj is seen lifting her up and putting her into the vehicle.

The taxi driver testified in court that the victim appeared unaware of the situation and unable to make decisions. Meanwhile, a toxicology test revealed the presence of narcotics in her body.

Despite the young men's claims – with Ferataj declaring that the relationship was consensual and Cenaj denying having had sexual contact – the court found both guilty of the criminal offense of rape.

The Leicester Crown Court decision came at the end of the trial last month, sentencing them to nine years in prison each for the serious crime.
