Berisha meets with tourism associations: This sector is swimming in informality!

Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha is holding a conversation with tourism associations.

"DP considers tourism as one of the country's greatest economic and cultural potentials. Albania has a magnificent tourist potential in the absolute sense of the word.

This sector has seen undeniable developments. In 2005, we welcomed 320,000 tourists and visitors, in 2013 this figure was 4,700,000. Today this figure is 10 million, but visitors have not been separated from tourists, which have an essential difference.

Tourism has a major problem in our country, which is the informality in which this sector floats, an informality that hits honest entrepreneurs, those who have made transparent investments.

The formalization of tourism is perhaps one of the most fundamental conditions.

"We do not intend to ban AirBNB, but formalization is necessary to utilize the potential we have. Formalization is also an element of security. We will do everything to achieve this because otherwise it cannot proceed," he said.
