Tabaku: The GJKKO decision on the Tirana incinerator is a crumb in the responsibility of those who signed it

Democratic Party candidate for deputy, Jorida Tabakut, has reacted to the sentences given today for the Tirana incinerator, which, according to the candidate in the May 11 elections, are a crumb compared to what really needs to be investigated and punished.

The Democratic Party has proven that the entire project was written in the offices of three people, who had nothing to do with waste incineration and burning, who did not know the sector, who had absolutely no financial resources to support this project, and who received a contract of 130 million euros, and which today is going to 390 million euros, which is known as the biggest theft of the century.

Tabaku states that after May 11, the Democratic Party will undertake a complete reform of all public contracts, starting with the Tirana incinerator, reforming not only the integrated waste management system, but the entire system with which today, the Tirana municipality first and all other municipalities, criminally collect citizens' increased taxes for cleaning and take them to the incinerator that does not exist.

Tabaku's Statement

 "Today's court decision on the Tirana incinerator case is a crumb in the responsibility that should have been brought to justice by whoever designed, conceived, approved and implemented it, but in the meantime continues and pays 88 thousand euros every day to this day."

The responsibility for the Tirana incinerator, as the DP has proven, through the incinerator investigation commission, started with the country's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, who signed all the files, but also the decisions for the Tirana incinerator.

During the investigative commission, we opened the doors to the public to create transparency and citizens saw that, in addition to all these payments that continue to be made to this day, the incinerator has received 100 million euros to date.

Apart from breaking the law, apart from corruption, apart from political involvement, it does not exist.

And today, as we speak, Tirana's garbage is dumped in the Sharra landfill, producing not only pollution for citizens, but also the biggest corruption scandal.

Today in Sharra there is the largest installation of corruption, but on the other hand there is also the installation of political involvement with the waste mafia.

The Democratic Party will not stop denouncing this affair, as we have done. Around 12 lawsuits have been submitted to SPAK today regarding the Tirana incinerator, thousands of pages of documents which prove the involvement of politics, organized crime, the political support given to this project, and at the same time the involvement of all officials, first of all the first political level, from the prime minister and ministers, to the mayor and secondly all the second level officials.

Immediately after May 11, the Democratic Party will undertake a complete reform of all public contracts, starting with the Tirana incinerator, reforming not only the integrated waste management system, but the entire system with which today, the municipality of Tirana first and all other municipalities, criminally collect citizens' increased taxes for cleaning and take them to the incinerator that does not exist.

This issue will have justice, one day there will be justice, and we will offer this justice to the citizens, to all those who continue to pay taxes to the incinerator of corruption, which today lies in the Sharra landfill.
