A serious case of rape against a minor has become the subject of investigation by the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, following suspicions that she was sexually abused for about a year by a person with the initials JG.

The news was confirmed to the Telegraph by the spokesperson for the Prosecution, Kaltrina Shala, who announced that an investigation procedure has already been officially launched against the suspect.

"The Custodian Prosecutor, due to the well-founded suspicion that he has committed the criminal offense of 'Rape', based on Article 227 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, has initiated investigations against the defendant JG, who is suspected of having sexually abused the minor RG several times over a period of about a year," said Shala.

According to her, in addition to initiating investigations, the prosecutor in the case has also filed a request for the suspect to be remanded in custody.

Meanwhile, the minor has been sent for a gynecological examination and is being treated under the supervision of the relevant institutions.

The case has shocked public opinion and is expected to be followed by further investigative and legal action.
