The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction, Gjirokastra has registered two criminal proceedings regarding criminal offenses that affect free elections and the democratic electoral system.

The first case is related to the lack of the Dropull EAZ seal, and is considered intentional damage to election material, while the second case concerns a report of intimidation against election participants, where a citizen claims to have been threatened through social networks for his opinions on an electoral subject.

Announcement: 

Based on the materials referred by the Gjirokastër Local Police Directorate, criminal proceedings no. 248 were registered on 23.04.2025, for the criminal offense of "Intentional damage to electoral material", provided for by Article 326/a of the Criminal Code, based on the report of one of the members of the Dropull EAZ, that the seal of this EAZ was missing.

Within the framework of this proceeding, the first procedural actions have been carried out and an investigative group has been established, which is carrying out all necessary actions with priority in order to fully clarify this issue.

On the same day, the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, based on the complaint of citizen ES, registered criminal proceedings no. 249, for the criminal offense of "Threat or violence against election participants", provided for by Article 329/1 of the Criminal Code.

From the data, it appears that on 22.04.2025, citizen ES reported the fact that citizen AM had threatened him via social networks. The threat came as a reaction to the opinions that citizen ES had expressed regarding an electoral subject.

According to the complaint, it is alleged that citizen AM used not only threatening language but also intimidating images. The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra is continuing the investigation to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
