A 38-year-old woman has been placed under investigation by Tirana Police, after she is suspected of opening a fake account on social media with the aim of denigrating the image of another woman.

According to official data, the citizen with the initials IM had created a fake profile with the personal data and photos of a 46-year-old woman, posting offensive and denigrating content there that seriously violated her dignity.

Cybercrime Investigation Specialists have referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and criminal proceedings have been initiated against the 38-year-old woman while she is at large.

The police have clarified that such actions constitute a serious violation of privacy and constitute criminal offenses punishable by law. Investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
