He killed his daughter in Tirana and then fled, 49-year-old Palestinian arrested

Fadi Alwan, the 49-year-old Palestinian who killed his 24-year-old daughter, Rayan Alwan, in Tirana, about 2 months ago, has been arrested.

Alwan's arrest took place in Lebanon, after the Court of First Instance in Tirana ordered him to be placed under the security measure of "Arrest in prison" for "Murder due to family relations." The 49-year-old is expected to be extradited to Albania.

"Following in-depth investigations carried out by the structures of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, and as a result of continuous communication with the homologous structures in Lebanon, through Interpol Tirana and Interpol Beirut, the Palestinian citizen, FA, 49 years old, was arrested in Lebanon, with the aim of extradition to Albania.

The First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana has assigned this citizen the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the criminal offense of "Murder due to family relations".

From the investigations so far, it is suspected that citizen FA, in February 2025, in an apartment on "Gjon Muzaka" Street, Tirana, killed his daughter, citizen RA, with a cutting tool.

"Cooperation between Interpol structures continues to finalize the procedure for the extradition of this citizen to Albania," the police announced.

Rayan Alwan and Fadi Alwan arrived in Albania two months ago, a few days before the 24-year-old was found dead in the apartment she had rented in Tirana with her father.

Rayan had conflicts with her parents who opposed her divorce from her husband.

Friends of the 24-year-old have stated that the parents chose to bring the girl to Albania and then the father killed her, claiming that the incident would not be solved.

The 24-year-old was found murdered with a knife. After the incident, her father fled to Germany and then to Lebanon where he was arrested. Rayan Alwan's body was withdrawn from the morgue a few days ago, after the family refused to take it.
