Kosovo Assembly ousts Haxhiu as Speaker for the third time

The fifth session, interrupted four times over the past few days, in an attempt to constitute the Kosovo Assembly, has failed.

LVV again proposed Albulena Haxhiu as speaker of parliament, but she did not receive the necessary votes to be elected to this position. She received 57 votes in favor, four less than the necessary 61.

The chairman of the session, Avni Dehari, announced that 117 deputies were present in the hall, of whom 57 were in favor, 46 against and 3 abstained.

Earlier, Vetëvendosje Movement MP Hekuran Murati announced that there was no consensual agreement on the election of the Speaker of the Assembly from the meeting between the chairman of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, and representatives of the parliamentary parties.
