UBT dormitories without heating and hot water, students: We shower in another

The student dormitories of the Agricultural University, which were inaugurated in 2020 as buildings with European conditions, do not have hot water or cooking facilities.

After the 2019 earthquake destroyed them, they were rebuilt and are scheduled for completion in 2022. Eight new buildings were rebuilt from the ground up for 2,200 students, who will live in optimal conditions, just like in dormitories in Europe. The buildings were supposed to be modern, with European standards, where students would have dining facilities, sleeping facilities, study facilities, and conceived as a community center. But after 3 years of their inauguration, problems began for the 144 students who live in building No. 1 at UBT.

In the show 'Fiks Fare', students of this dormitory complain about the not at all suitable conditions in which they live. The girls say that since September 2024 they have not had hot water in the dormitory and have been forced to wash in building No. 7, which is located opposite their building. They say that they do not have hot water in the dormitory showers, nor in the rooms, which is not the case at all. They say that they have complained about this several times to the people in charge, the director of the building, but also to the director of Building Administration, Ms. Ilda Shehu, and have even petitioned the Tirana Dormitory Directorate (DKSHM).

In addition, they say that the boiler heating system is out of order and that they have been forced to buy heaters to heat their rooms. Meanwhile, the director of the dormitory Enerilda Ndoci tells them to move to another building, or to rent. The girls say in front of the camera that 'FIX IT NOW' that the building to which the director is talking about moving them is unsuitable and that they do not feel safe, because it is an open building and there are no security cameras like building no. 1 where they currently live. They say that that building has served as a "hospitable building" for tourists. In fact, the building is in very poor condition because it is extremely dilapidated. The toilets leak, the drawers are moldy, there is no hot water, and there are no security cameras in the corridors. They say that they have felt pressured because conditions have been imposed on them to either move to building no. 7 or find rented accommodation.

'Fiks Fare', in collaboration with the girls of the dormitory, entered the buildings and from the footage, it was found that the building was dilapidated, starting from the doors to the leaking toilets.

Fiksi spoke with the director of the dormitory, Ms. Enerilda Ndoci. The latter claimed that the best solution is to move to building No. 7, since the problem with the water in the building where the girls live is technical and she does not undertake to explain it. Meanwhile, building No. 7 says Ms. Ndoci has hot water.

But after Fiksi's interest, the Directorate of Building Administration at UBT moved the girls to another building with the same conditions and security as in building No. 1. The relocation of 140 girls to building No. 4 offers them the security they sought and better living conditions. Top Channel
