Food safety report: We are in food terrorism, at the point where scandal covers

The President of the Order of Veterinary Doctors, Ervin Resuli, has commented on the alarming situation with food safety.

During the interview on Syri TV, Resuli stated that we are in a situation where food products are out of control and the consumer is left at the "mercy of fate."

Resuli said that the Ministry of Agriculture has capitulated to comply with the law and to provide guarantees to consumers who are consuming foods with dangerous pesticides every day.

"We have a capitulation, not a debauchery, of the Ministry of Agriculture in its entirety, because if we talk today about food safety, there is a cause and effect, there is an origin to everything that gradually comes to the point where we are today, that scandal covers scandal."

And this is actually scary. Even the case of the director of Tirana who had resigned in sunny weather but the minister kept the letter for a rainy day.

In other words, the minister herself is aware that the situation has slipped out of her hands because she did not gather it at the right time and did not make the right moves. On the contrary, this situation has brought her down, and in fact, at the end of the day, we suffer the serious consequences.

Our children suffer, the consumer suffers.

To stay a little on the technical side. Cases have become so frequent that today we find ourselves in a state of food terrorism. I can say with full conviction that food security at the global level is considered a matter of national security.

 Now imagine that an enemy country of Albania wants to put a substance in a food product and what happens then to the entire Albanian population. We have consumed over 3500 kg of chicken fillet that could feed over 1000 people and dozens of children.

So we have been at the mercy of fate... We have the scandal of chicken fillets, the scandal of mandarins that were consumed, strawberries, peppers that were seized in Croatia...

"The possibility that we have consumed all of this cannot be ruled out. The Ministry has capitulated to comply with the law and provide guarantees for the consumer...", said Resuli.
