Begaj and Osmani pay homage near the body of Pope Francis in the Vatican

The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, paid homage today to the body of Pope Francis in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, in a ceremony attended by heads of state, clergy and believers from all over the world.
During the homage to the Holy Father, Begaj was accompanied by the four representatives of the Albanian religious communities, the Muslim, Orthodox, Catholic and Bektashi, a testimony of the brotherhood between faiths and religious tolerance, which Pope Francis has also appreciated during his visit to Albania.
At the ceremony honoring Pope Francis, alongside the President of the Republic were the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, Cardinal Ernest Simoni, the Head of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church, His Beatitude, Joan Pelushi, by His Excellency Arjan Dodaj, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Tirana-Durrës, the Head of the Muslim Community of Albania, H. Bujar Spahiu, the World Grandfather of the Bektashis, Haxhi Dede Baba Edmond Brahimaj, the Head of the Interreligious Council of Albania, Gent Kruja, and others.
The President of the Republic is accompanied in these homages by the Ambassador of the Republic to the Vatican, Majlinda Frangaj.
