'Serial' eyeglass thief arrested in Tirana after stealing 11,200 euros

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in Tirana after stealing 7 pairs of glasses worth 11,200 euros over the course of 4 months.

The 40-year-old was filmed by store security cameras cleaning his glasses and putting them in his pocket. He committed the thefts over a period of 4 months in the same store.

"During 4 months, he stole accessories worth around 11,200 euros from the same store. The 40-year-old, previously convicted for the same crime, was caught."

Following the intensive investigative work being carried out by the Tirana Police structures, to uncover the thefts and bring their perpetrators to criminal responsibility, Police Commissariat No. 1 finalized the "Logo" operation.

During the operation, citizen E.(D.) D., 40 years old, resident of Tirana, was identified, arrested and handcuffed.

He is suspected of having stolen 7 pairs of glasses worth around 11,200 euros from the same store over the last 4 months.

"Investigations are ongoing to uncover other thefts that the 40-year-old may have committed. The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action ," the police announced.
