Russia's Investigative Committee has confirmed that General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a car bomb explosion in Moscow today.
Confirming the report we mentioned at 10:31, the incident has been classified as a homicide, writes Sky News.
The committee also confirmed that an explosive device with "shock elements" exploded in a car in the Balashikha area of the capital.
Moskalik was the deputy head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
