Former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of selective use of justice against political opponents.

Invited to Syri TV, Salianjit said that his prison sentence is the clearest example of how Rama punishes opposition voices, and even mentioned other similar cases, such as Fredi Beleri, Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta. 

"It is the first time that a deputy, or even an ordinary person, has been sent to prison for this issue. I am the first deputy to go to prison with a mandate. After I surrendered to the institutions, the mandate was revoked a week later. This issue was not in its turn, it was taken out of turn.

Let's take a moment that for me was not... the former party leader did not have, let's say, any concessions, let alone any other words. It was 2019 when the mandates were handed over.
