The scorching heat returns, the thermometer climbs to 40°C

The heat wave that has gripped Albania since late June shows no signs of abating. According to MeteoAlb forecasts, this Thursday will once again be under the influence of dry and hot air masses, further intensifying scorching weather conditions across the entire territory.

In the central and interior areas of the country, such as Tirana, Elbasan, Fier and Berat, maximum temperatures are expected to reach extreme values, from 38 to 40°C. These areas will face a scorching sensation that makes any outdoor activity difficult.

Meanwhile, the coast offers a lighter coolness in the early morning hours, with temperatures ranging from 18 to 22°C in cities such as Durrës, Vlora and Saranda. But during the day, these areas will also experience high temperatures that will reach 35–37°C. The wind is expected to be of low to medium intensity, bringing only a light swell to the sea.

Even mountainous areas are not immune to the heat. In cities such as Përmet, Kukës, Korça and Puka, daily temperatures ranging from 34 to 38°C are expected. Minimum values in these areas start at 16°C in the morning and increase during the day to 30–34°C.

Overall, the weather remains hot and dry across the country, requiring extra care to avoid excessive sun exposure and stay hydrated, especially during the hottest hours of the day.
