EU report, Nesho: Europe is fed up with propaganda

Former ambassador Agim Nesho stated that the European Union is clearly signaling a change in approach towards Edi Rama's regime.

According to him, events in the country are now being regularly covered by European institutions and this shows great fatigue with the current government.

Nesho stressed that this regime is becoming increasingly unacceptable to Brussels, despite its efforts to mask reality through clientelism and the facade of reforms.

In conclusion, Nesho emphasized that in the recent discussions in the European Parliament there was no sign of enthusiasm, on the contrary, a serious warning was observed about the stagnation of reforms and the danger that the continuation of this government brings to Albania's path to integration.

"In fact, a new report is appearing in the European Union, about that reality that you rightly said has long been known during the resistance of this regime, almost 12 years in Albania. Now the reality of events in Albania is being reflected regularly, this shows that there is a saturation with this regime.

This regime is becoming increasingly unacceptable, despite its appearances, the clientelism of the regime and Mr. Rama, but now that Europe is watching, the efforts to integrate Albania into the European Union are becoming very realistic. You saw the two reports, I have never seen such a critical voice, very detailed, as was the report presented 2 days ago, getting involved in issues related to corruption, in the main corrupt areas where there was complete evidence, such as in health, education, the police, public procurement, especially in private elements, choosing this thing to the point of interfering in justice.

"There has never been a report with such dark colors, but a report that realistically shows the progress of all this progress that in Albania Mr. Rama and his entire regime are selling as if they are an attempt to get closer to the EU. What was determined was not any enthusiastic sign, that some senior Albanian officials were saying that the European Parliament today discussed the progress of reforms and integration of Albania, but in fact it was a serious warning", Nesho told SYRI TV.
