Wanted by Italy, drug trafficker arrested in Durrës (NAME)

Durrës Police, in cooperation with the Operational Forces, have arrested a person internationally wanted by Italy.

As part of the operation codenamed "The Wanted", citizen Behar Gerguri, 39 years old, resident of Durrës, has been arrested,  who is convicted of drug trafficking in Italy.

"This citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Court of Appeal of Milan, Italy, in 2023, sentenced him to 5 years and 2 months in prison, for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics", provided for by the Italian Criminal Code," the Police statement said.

Police say that procedures are continuing for the 39-year-old's extradition to Italy.
