The owner of the restaurant that burned down in Theth speaks out: Bad

Aida Gjeçaj, the owner of the restaurant in Theth that was destroyed by flames during the mesantara, spoke in a statement to the media.

Gjeçaj said that she has no doubts about why the incident may have happened, but she speaks of a "coincidence" with the demolition of buildings in Theth. She says that she did not build illegally and that she has a guesthouse with 5 rooms.

"Experts say that the power was not turned off at all, even though the building was on fire, which rules out an electrical spark. I have no doubts, I don't owe anyone, I didn't have any threats or anything, and I don't know why he came. I am a guesthouse with 5 rooms, as I didn't want to build anything without a permit, but I don't know who to blame. The coincidence with the action in Theth is bad, because I don't have any demolition proceedings, as I don't have any constructions or facilities without a permit. I chose to work with the restaurant and 5 rooms, waiting and following up as much as we can to offer maximum service to tourists and the name of Theth," she said.

Gjeçaj says the fire caused damage worth around 150 thousand euros.

"The damage could be around 15 thousand euros, I leave it to the justice system, but it is not from the energy. I have no idea, as I was in Tirana at the time of the fire. When I was notified at two in the morning that there was a fire in my business, I left and came. The neighbors intervened as much as they could, but they did not manage to save anything. This is my structure, which was a restaurant with solar panels. The fire department did not manage to arrive in time, but it arrived anyway. I thank the neighbors who came to prevent the fire from spreading. Thank God, there were no human casualties, neither from family members nor from tourists. The restaurant and the business are in my ownership ," she concluded.
