The Council of Ministers has determined today in a meeting the company that will deal with the marking and traceability of the cannabis plant for medical purposes in Albania.

The Council of Ministers decided that the company authorized to carry out the marking and traceability of cannabis is the company "ALBTrace Co", sh.a. This company will be responsible for the production and distribution of fiscal stamps that will be used for products subject to excise duty.

DECISION ON THE DESIGNATION OF THE AUTHORITY AUTHORIZED TO IMPLEMENT MARKING AND TRACEABILITY.

In support of Article 100 of the Constitution and point 5, Article 34, of Law No. 61/2023, “On the control of the cultivation and processing of the cannabis plant and the production of its by-products for medical and industrial purposes”, upon the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Minister of Health and Social Protection, the Council of Ministers

DECIDED: The authorized authority for the implementation of marking and traceability, according to Law No. 61/2023, "On the control of the cultivation and processing of the cannabis plant and the production of its by-products for medical and industrial purposes", is the company "ALBTrace Co", sh.a.

The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Cannabis Control Agency and the company “ALBTrace Co”, sh.a., are charged with the implementation of this decision. This decision enters into force after its publication in the “Official Gazette”, the decision states.
