Kaja Kallas visits Albania for the first time as Head of EU Diplomacy

The Head of Diplomacy of the European Union, Commissioner Kaja Kallas, will pay an official visit to Albania on 8 April, as part of a diplomatic tour of the Western Balkans region.

During her stay in Tirana, Kallas will hold a series of meetings with senior representatives of Albanian institutions. According to the agenda published by the European Commission, the visit will start with a meeting with the President of the Republic, Mr. Bajram Begaj. Afterwards, the Commissioner will also hold face-to-face meetings with Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, as well as with the Minister of Defence, Pirro Vengu.

This will be Kaja Kalla's first official visit to Albania since assuming office as EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The visit comes at an important moment for the relations between Albania and the EU, in the framework of the European integration process and regional cooperation.

After his stay in Tirana, Kallas is expected to visit two other countries in the region: Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing the EU's commitment to the stability and European integration of the Western Balkans.
