Learning 'live' of Pope Francis' death, Rama interrupts electoral

Prime Minister Edi Rama learned 'live' of the passing of Pope Francis.

Rama interrupted his campaign rally in Kavaja and held a minute of silence for Pope Francis as a sign of respect. He praised him as an extraordinary man.

"I received a message here just now, I am very sorry, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, an extraordinary man, has passed away.

I had a personal relationship with him, he constantly sent me messages, and I am extremely sorry that he chose to visit Albania outside the Vatican after being elected Pope.

"After a meeting they had, he spent a day in Albania that he considered unforgettable and said the unforgettable word that Albania has religious brotherhood. I believe I have the understanding here to honor him with a minute of silence and to interrupt the meeting here ," said Rama.
