Approval of the law on protected areas, the EU reacts: We will follow the legal

 

The European Union has reacted after the legal approval for protected areas in the Assembly.

In a reaction on Facebook, the EU delegation in Tirana writes that the draft law in question will be followed closely to ensure compliance with the legal framework established by the EU.

Among other things, the delegation adds that a comprehensive public consultation and transparent process is needed.

"Albania's path to membership in the European Union is clear. It requires continuous efforts by the government and parliament to ensure that Albanian legislation is aligned with European standards.

In the framework of accession negotiations, the adoption of laws on matters covered by EU legislation presupposes genuine and comprehensive public consultation, as well as a predictable and transparent process.

The EU delegation will closely follow the implementation of the new legal provisions for protected areas, according to the EU's legal framework for environmental protection and Albania's international commitments ," said the reaction.
