Even the United States of America has joined the celebrations of the 110th anniversary of Albania's Independence.

The Albanian community in New York celebrated November 28 by raising the red and black flag in the heart of America. Also present at the ceremony was the mayor of New York, Eric Adams, who addressed the Albanians of America with gratitude and special words.

Adams thanked the Albanians for their contribution to the American society, appreciating that New York is the Albanian capital of the USA.

“What a community, and this community means so much to me. Your support, focus, discipline, small business owners. You believe in public safety. You believe in family. You believe in education and you believe in the patriotism of embracing your adopted country as you love your homeland Albania. The only place on the globe where we tell you to keep your culture while you come here and infuse it with the American experience. Welcome here to the Albanian capital of America right here. We are proud to have the largest Albanian population outside of Albania. Over a hundred thousand Albanian participants here in this city. It is strong. You are frontline workers.

And so I am happy to be here today to raise the flag on the 110th anniversary of how we recognize Albania's independence and to honor all of our Albanian Americans who have long improved the five boroughs of this amazing city and amazing people.

So Happy Independence Day. This is such a significant moment when you raise the flag here in Bowling Green, in the heart of our financial capital ," Adams said in his speech.
