The officer favored Tom Doshi's son, the police react: He abused his duty

The police of Lezha have reacted to the suspension of the police officer, Ismet Sula, who allegedly favored the son of Tom Doshi, who was at fault in an accident. The police say that the accident has been referred to and Ismet Sula, head of traffic in Lezhë, has been suspended from duty. His suspension was carried out after he misused his duty, favoring James Doshi, not impounding his vehicle involved in the incident, but leaving it for safekeeping.

"Regarding the suspension from duty of the Judicial Police Officer Deputy Commissioner IS, with specialist duties/OPGJ in the Urban and Interurban Traffic Section, in DVP Lezhë, we clarify that:

On 17.03.2024, on the "Lezhë-Milot" road axis, citizen JD, 24 years old, resident of Tirana, driving a "Lexus" type vehicle, collided with a "Benz" type vehicle with female driver LJ, 55 years old, resident in the village of Tresh, Lezhë, who received medical help, in the hospital of Lezhë, in a condition out of danger for life.

In relation to this road incident, the Lezhë Traffic Police have carried out all the first investigative actions at the scene, in accordance with the law, in consultation with the ready prosecutor of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Lezhë.

At the end of the first investigative actions, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, on 18.03.2024, by the Judicial Police Officer IS, in charge of the citizen JD, for the criminal offense "Violation of traffic rules" and this case was reflected in the daily communique of 18.03.2024, in which the daily events and activities of the Police structures, throughout the 24 hours of 17.03.2024, are reflected.

On 15.04.2024, the General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office of Lezhë brought the order of execution of the criminal decision of the Court of Lezhë, for the appointment of the security measure "Suspension of the exercise of the duty", against the police employee Deputy Commissioner IS, as it is suspected that Deputy Commissioner IS abused his duty, favoring the citizen JD, not impounding his vehicle involved in the incident, but leaving it for safekeeping.

Pursuant to the execution order of the Prosecutor, the Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police has made the immediate suspension from duty of the IS Police employee and has started the disciplinary investigation for a serious violation of discipline .
