The Italian prosecutor: The Albanian mafia is violent, they invest in the

The Italian prosecutor, Nicola Gratteri, has said that the Albanian mafia does not have the advantage of investing money in Albania.

In a direct link to Euronews Albania, Gratteri said that the Albanian mafia invests in countries like the Netherlands and Germany or northern Italy.

"I don't think that the Albanian mafia should invest in Albania. I think that the mafia, including the Albanian one, has an interest in investing in more developed and rich countries where they can hide the money. The investments of the Italian mafia such as hotels, restaurants are from Rome and above, in the north of Italy. That's why I think that these organizations and the Albanian ones invest, for example, in the Netherlands or Germany in rich countries with a lot of activity" , said Gratteri.

The Italian prosecutor said that he knows the mafia quite well and that the Albanian one is differentiated because it is much more efficient and has a violent structure.

"Albanian mafia is a tough, violent and very efficient structure. Its severity makes it frightening in the international panorama. Albanians are very determined in the criminal plan", he said.
